As the world’s largest international society of biomedical engineers, IEEE EMBS aspires to promote Biomedical Engineering, in the sense of bridging gaps in such an interdisciplinary field for developing a cognizant view and a sense of professionalism for its members. Its focus is to provide the professionals in the field, ranging from Biomedical Engineering students to faculty and industry partners, with a toolbox that not only connects all members internationally for accessibility and collaboration, but also giving students from different backgrounds, such as computer science, mechanical and material engineering and electrical engineering, a chance to innovate affordable medical devices and state of the art healthcare technology. As part of the Miami Chapter, we highly believe is providing our members with access to people, practices and tools, information and ideas that are shaping one of the fastest growing fields in science. Our members are exposed to a variety of professional activities such as distinguished lecture programs, seminar series, tools, data and ethical workshops as well as professional development activities such as socials with industry and networking events. Our mission is to train the next generation of multidisciplinary and social scientists.
